This morning I am sure we walked past a house you will like; but which one is it?

I will number them for your convenience. You may chose more than one. Interspersed with the houses will be flora, fauna and fungi.

1

Yellow-fringed Iris

Pride of Madeira

2

Lobster plant (snake deterrent)

3

View over Loma Portal Elementary School, founded about 1912.

4

(Showing the ever-popular bare dirt landscape option)

5

(sorry, this Cadillac is as big as a house, but it doesn't count)

Free construction material in San Diego, found on site and just needs picking up and cementing in place.

6
with unusual white Pride of Madeira plant.

7

Pincushion

8

9

Pachypodium on left. Blue Mexican Fan-tailed palm on right

10

11

Crow walking across the sidewalk with no regard for human traffic!

12

13

Sure wish we knew what this flowering tree was. Anybody?

Wild Anise (licorice)

This totem pole (cut into a tree trunk) goes with the next house.

14 (can't really see this house)

15

This view goes with house 15 & 16

16

17  Large Specimen Staghorn Fern

18

19
(too many to name!)

20

21

22

Bees quite happy to take over the manhole cover and no doubt have filled the cavity beneath it.

Here kitty, kitty. Rich kitty. (While You Were Sleeping)

23

1962 Studebacker Hawk $17,950 lettering is too small, price is too big.

'Shroom. No guarantee it is safe to eat.

24

25

That's all for now. I hope you like historical homes of various types ... I will be disappointed if you can't find just one that pleases you.

We had a good time anyway.

Cheers,

Cazalea

There's not one I wouldn't take but there are a few I would take first over some of the others. Kind of a descending order of preference. I always enjoy your "home tours".

Nice houses!

Which one has the biggest garage?

The one with the (now) totem pole has 2 2-car garages even though you can't see them in the picture I posted

Here's the house and tree from a few years ago. It has the killer view of the bay too, out the back ...

Very nice!

I'm a fan of Craftsman and Spanish...

For my taste....

Houses 1, 7 and 19. Much too difficult to beat single level ranch or hacienda style homes - my all time favorites, plus red brick adds to the appeal in my eyes. Honorable mention goes to home number 23 - same just on two levels.... Cheers and thanks for t...

Here's what I know

View from 1 Regarding number 7-- the home of "Auto Parts Annie" who I dated a few times before I got married ~ 50 years ago... here are some pics from about 10 years ago on Google Maps, before it got hidden by landscaping. Nineteen is owned by Karen who w...

Oh, by the way....

Those skyline views are amazing! My favorite pictures overall, here in L.A., you'd have to pay far more for views like those, not that I'm implying that the S.D. prices are inexpensive.... Cheers Mike, Filip

I have a decent view too, when standing on top of my roof

Too bad Santa & the roofers are the only ones to enjoy it

Well, you seem to see to it that

you have great views at least every other day, with the added benefit of a workout. Not unlike the roofers. Or Santa, in-season. Cheers Marc

Hehehe, it seems I had

one of those rare moments, after too little sleep.

1 or 15 for me 😃

15 is really cool, and I like the blue paint which is fairly recent

Nice rooftop deck too, but as you can see here it's under the flight path before the remake and taking down all the trees... ...

Looks like a long walk..with great scenery..

My pick - House 4, 5 and 20

All beautiful houses Mike but love number 5

That's a very interesting place, isn't it?

 By: cazalea : April 16th, 2024-15:11
One major problem with it - the view is of the local high school parking lot. It's at the main gate in/out, thus most of the year there's lots of traffic and motley groups of kids. Photo from a few years ago. ...

Bummer! Oh well! The search goes on 😉

I always thought I was a diehard modernist…

 By: ArmisT : April 17th, 2024-01:32
but I surprised myself by thinking the modern houses strike me as too clinical and lacking charm compared to the other homes. Ultimately, they’re all beautiful in one way or another given the personal attention the owners clearly invest in these homes, bu...
