50s and 60s and invented the backlit dial (Tourist Everlight) long before Timex. But sadly, they are almost forgotten nowadays, despite their historical significance. I really like the brand, i have a soft spot for these obscure underdog brands. smile I even brought back an old Tourist from the dead - it belonged to my wifes grandfather and it was beyond repairable (water intrusion). So I just bought a donor watch with an AS 1130 movement for a few bucks and swapped the movement - damn, fitting the hands was a pain in the ass for an absolute watchmaking noob I can tell you! wink But it is running again and my wife was sooo happy when I gave her the watch. She is wearing it from time to time despite the rough shape it is in, so mission successful I guess! smile I will post pictures someday soon, I think it is worth a seperate post - this watch has been throug soooo much sh*it - and is still running.

you almost make me feel a bit self-conscious now. I´m also always thankful for shared knowledge and on most other brands the "hardcore-members" on this board are much more knowledgeable than me. But I studied everything about Tourist extensively in the pa...
