Two ‘glorious’ Laureatos have been released . . .

At least that’s how Girard-Perregaux is describing these latest releases! Just saw this on LinkedIn: What are your thoughts on these? ...

I’m with you, mon ami.

I’m still hoping GP will put some effort into their Vintage 1945 line and give us some updated releases!🤞

That would be amazing!

Yep! :)))

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2024-12:55

Indeed! :)))

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2024-13:38

Not even derivative

 By: E in PA : May 7th, 2024-10:55
They should Team up with Sherwin Williams and offer this in 1142 colors and 4 surfaces LOL

LOL!!!

 By: amanico : May 7th, 2024-12:56

Full gold on 42 mm is too much...lose the elegance IMHO

 By: hoseachandra : May 7th, 2024-09:14
Make it 38 mm in yellow gold, with rubber or leather, blue dial...and i will seriously consider it.

Already done

 By: SingaporeMarc : May 7th, 2024-11:42
GP 38 mm rose gold was already done in 2018 ...

Yes. But maybe in yellow gold with blue dial :))

 By: hoseachandra : May 8th, 2024-05:19
I know, i"m picky

Just ask your AD to special order it for you

 By: SingaporeMarc : May 8th, 2024-07:13
GP will make all kinds of things when asked.

Agree

 By: jakub04 : May 8th, 2024-00:26

Beautiful

 By: shafran : May 7th, 2024-09:21
But not a monumental release. They are learning from rolex?

I was really hoping for a

Seahawk 3 in yellow gold with matching bracelet to send a message to the crown but I guess not this year then! Joke aside 42 on gold is probably a bit too much, I would prefer they take inspiration from VC or PF.

Haha

 By: jakub04 : May 8th, 2024-00:27
I just hope they won't have their 'offshor'.

Looks like they got the green wrong 😕

 By: TeutonicCarFan : May 7th, 2024-10:38
Gives me a pea green vibe... vc appears to have got the green spot on

“Pea green” sounds accurate

 By: SingaporeMarc : May 7th, 2024-11:44
And the blue dial looks like the regular blue dial from the 42 mm in steel. Only with a single bridge now instead of “1791”

Oh dear… GP, GP, GP …😮‍💨

 By: SingaporeMarc : May 7th, 2024-11:37
Going the Swatch route … all the dial colors to add to the collection. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Wonder if Kering would do everyone a favor and buy GP back … Entirely a xxxshow. Bad launch of yet another silly dial color change. The design team using microsoft paint to chang...

+1

The green is an off-putting hue, to me

 By: vitalsigns : May 7th, 2024-13:22
The marketing-speak is utterly dumb, and a turn-off. As to the Lauretos in full gold, why not?

Variations variations, variations...

 By: mdg : May 7th, 2024-15:20
...don't get me wrong, it's a good-looking watch. But most manufacturers are stuck.

Agree.

 By: SingaporeMarc : May 7th, 2024-17:41
GP needs to invest some money into some real innovations with movements, case and bracelets. They just keep on rehashing old stuff masked as new. All we see today was already done in 2017. Dial color changes or mix and match metals from one model to anoth...

As long as enough people are buying it, they can do that…

It’s being used as a sacrifice

 By: SingaporeMarc : May 8th, 2024-07:10
Watch in “bundling” with authorized dealers. Want a patek? Buy other sacrifice watches first. We have seen many ADs in asia doing this.

Thanks for the post my Friend. As the others say...

 By: MichaelC : May 7th, 2024-18:29
Nothing to see here.

I’m still convinced

 By: Aquaracer1 : May 7th, 2024-21:14
This is the Laureato to own: ...

A classic

 By: jakub04 : May 8th, 2024-00:28
Although I prefer those fancy enamel stuff

I am a big fan of GP BUT

 By: MTR : May 7th, 2024-23:59
this “new” release is not glorious but simply uninspired. Sorry for the hard words… 🙏 I am waiting for a new Seahawk, a new Vintage 45 edition, a new WT. Still waiting and waiting and waiting.

And it had one of the best bracelets I have ever experienced!

 By: MTR : May 8th, 2024-16:17
I can still remember the first time I visited their watch factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds. That must have been 25 years ago. I saw how every single link of the bracelet was milled from a single piece of steel. The bracelet was unfortunately not adjustable in...

Muted colours...

 By: jakub04 : May 8th, 2024-00:36
...might lie well with flashy gold, although 42 is way too much. 38mm was widely appraised (same as 36mm for Piaget Polo...), too bad they didn't go this route. Also, who wrote that text? GPT? I love GP, as anyone here, but I hope they fight better next t...

I have never have warmed up to any variations in the Laureato line

 By: Moka-Tiger (Ron) : May 8th, 2024-03:21
Including these. Just my opinion, as asked.

"Sage for wisdom" is so much marketing I'm half laughing/crying at how bad this is...

 By: patrick_y : May 8th, 2024-04:52
As someone who likes marketing done well, and I like to think I appreciate marketing done well - I just find this really appallingly bad. I will say however, that it is hard to find a lot of interesting adjectives to describe a very "mundane" new release....

Agree. “Tacky” takes on a whole new meaning

 By: SingaporeMarc : May 8th, 2024-06:47
with this sort of marketing. It’s like they gave it to an intern to handle.
